Member Spotlight: Rebekah Murray | Dare Gift Boxes

Some businesses start with a spreadsheet and a five-year plan. Dare Gift Boxes started with something a little more personal: a desire to make thoughtful gifting effortless for people who care deeply but are simply too busy to pull it off.

Rebekah Murray, founder and co-owner of Dare Gift Boxes, turned that instinct into a full-service gifting company that now serves clients across the country. From beautifully curated personal gift boxes to custom corporate gifting programs, Dare is built around four core values: relationships, hard work, adaptability, and joy. It shows in every box shipped.

“Dare Gift Boxes started from the desire to make thoughtful, beautiful gifting an easy win for busy people.”

A Business Built to Grow and a Workspace Built to Grow With It

Running a product-based business means Rebekah’s days look different than most. Dare Gift Boxes operates out of a studio where her team packages orders and manages inventory. But as the business grew, so did the need for a separate space: somewhere quieter, closer to home, and designed for the focused work of actually running a company.

That’s what brought her to Venture X.

With her studio already handling production, Rebekah joined as a Community Member, using Venture X as her second workspace for deep-focus laptop sessions, virtual calls, and the kind of uninterrupted work that’s hard to find anywhere else.

“I was doing a lot of coffee shops before here,” she said, “and it’s been AMAZING what a difference it’s made to have a coworking space with reliable wi-fi, desk space, amenities, and quiet spaces for taking calls.”

A Great Work Day and the People Who Make It Better

Ask Rebekah what she loves most about Venture X, and she’ll tell you it’s a tie.

On one side: the focus. The kind of productive, locked-in work day that used to be hard to come by in a coffee shop where the wi-fi is spotty, the seats are uncomfortable, and someone’s always asking to share your table. At Venture X, she gets the consistency and the infrastructure to actually knock the to-do list out.

On the other side: the people.

“My favorite part of working here has to be tied with the quiet bliss of getting locked into a good work day and having space to knock out my to-do list. But I also love how fun it is to come here every day and catch up with the other members who have become friends.”

It’s a balance that speaks to what a great coworking community actually delivers: not just a desk and a password, but a daily rhythm worth showing up for. And for a business rooted in the value of relationships, it’s a perfect fit.

Those connections have gone beyond casual conversation, too. Rebekah noted that many Venture X members have become Dare Gift Boxes clients—a reminder that the right community doesn’t just support your work, it can become part of your business.

What’s Next for Dare Gift Boxes?

Rebekah and the Dare team have plenty to celebrate heading into spring. In November 2025, Dare Gift Boxes was awarded the People’s Choice Award for Loudoun County Small Business of the Year. That recognition reflects the relationships and reputation they’ve built, one thoughtful gift at a time.

Looking ahead, Rebekah is excited about Venture X’s newest Brambleton location, which sits close to the Dare studio where her business partner, Colleen Steedly, manages operations. Rebekah also plans to explore the Fairfax location as her work takes her across Northern Virginia.
