What made you want to get involved in this line of work?
Our business involves lots of interaction with people and homes – both of which I thoroughly enjoy.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping people during one of life’s most stressful events – moving – which is often initiated by other stressful events – job change, marriage, divorce, children, etc. Being able to offer counsel, comfort, and direction during these times.
What’s the biggest challenge that you have faced in business and how did you overcome it?
Learning to communicate clearly, without allowing emotions to get involved; not taking things personally. I seek wise counsel and read good books to gain insight in weak areas.
What business tips would you like to share with others
Always return emails and phone calls within 24 hours. Answer texts within the hour. It’s polite.
What has been your favorite part about working at Venture X
I love the big windows and bright open spaces; the staff is extremely warm and friendly and it sets the tone for the building. We’ve been here for almost a year and love it.
A Personal Look at Heather Tomlin
While getting to know Heather a little better, we learned that she is a fraternal twin. She also shared that her husband, JD, has been the greatest inspiration on her career journey because he is a great leader. In her spare time, Heather enjoys shopping, spending time with her husband and children, and reading.
