The Colony Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary association consisting of organizations, professionals, and businesses of different trades and industries. The association serves as spokespeople and representatives of the business community and is dedicated to business development and economic growth in the City of The Colony as well as in the areas that surround it. On October 14th, the Colony Chamber organized the 3rd Annual Golf Charity Tournament2020. The Venture X team actively participated in this event, which was held at the tribute Golf Club on Lebanon Road, The Colony, Texas.
The charity event was organized to raise funds for United Way of Denton County: a locally governed global organization founded in 1953. With its dedicated volunteers and donors, United Way of Denton County is a non-profit charitable organization that works hard to ensure the betterment of the community.
United Way works to improve and transform the lives of the people in Denton County. The volunteers at United Way of Denton County identify the immediate needs of the community. The data is gathered and once these needs are evaluated, they provide the services to meet these needs. If other agencies are providing the same services, United Way of Denton County works with them to ensure that they are well distributed. This helps strengthen the effectiveness of these services. Where such services do not exist, collaborative programs are used in place of them.
United Way of Denton County works for people across Denton County including families, veterans, children, the homeless, and people affected by mental illnesses. They work collaboratively with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and United Way of Tarrant County, along with a growing number of local non-profit organizations to assist the people living in Denton County. They are on a mission: constantly evaluating the needs of the community, closing gaps, and building assets to create the best Denton County for everyone.
