Member Spotlight: Radiant Energy

Welcome to our member spotlight, where we proudly highlight the accomplishments of the professionals in our coworking community. Today we are showcasing Radiant Energy Solar, a family-owned solar energy service operating out of VX Orlando. Join us in learning more about what got them into the business of renewable energy and what makes their work so rewarding!

Tell us a little about your company.

My company was founded in 2023 by two cousins with a passion for clean renewable energy. We are licensed electrical and solar contractors in the State of Florida. We specialize in new solar pv panel installations, whole home battery installations, electrical main panel upgrades, EV charger installations, energy efficient products, and more.

What led you to starting your company?

I have always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur since I was a child but never knew what field I wanted to pursue until 2018, when I went to Colombia and reunited with my partner/cousin Sebastain who at the time had just graduated with an environmental engineering degree. At the time, he was doing very small-scale solar installations and I went to a few jobs with him and fell in love with the idea of renewable energy. After coming back to the States, I found an install job and worked my way up the ladder from there. 

What sets your business apart from your competitors?

What sets us apart from most other companies is the 2 owners of Radiant Energy actually come from field operations so we know what exactly is a high quality install. We believe in a win-win scenario for both the company and the homeowner, where we can cut out unnecessary costs and give those savings directly to the homeowner. Everything is done in house, we do not subcontract out any of our work and that allows us to keep control over the jobs and making sure they are done at a high level.

What is something you wish you'd known when you were just starting your business?

Something I wish I had known when I started would be how important it is to get an in house sales team to generate our own leads/sales and not rely solely on 3rd party companies to provide them. We have our in house sales team now but definitely would have liked to have started earlier.

How do you navigate your work-life balance?

Right now I am fully focused on my business and everyone around me knows that, so as far as work-life balance it's more work than anything but that's okay because it will pay off.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

There's 3 things that I found the most rewarding of being a business owner, the first is being able to employ good people and allow them the opportunity to make a good living while being able to support their families and have good work-life balance. The second most rewarding part is being able to see the evolution of the company from where it was a year ago compared to where it is now, complete night and day difference. The third part is having no one to answer to, I answer to myself and keep myself responsible for the growth of the company.

How has being a part of the Venture X Orlando community affected you and your business?

Venture X has been an amazing addition to our business. From all the successful business owners I've met and been able to network with, to Venture X's support team has been nothing short of amazing. I also love bringing potential customers and employees to see our office because of the professional setting and amazing location.

Any improvements we could do to help you or your business?

No improvements, Venture X has been one of our biggest supporters since we've been here.

If you had a friend in town and you could take them to one of your favorite restaurants or spots in your community, where would you take them?

There are a few places I take family and friends to when they come to town, one of them is to Disney Springs where we can walk around, shop, and have dinner. Another spot would be Park Ave. in Winter Park where we can walk around, have wine and dinner at a nice restaurant. Lastly if it's someone that likes the party scene I would take them bar hopping or clubbing in Downtown Orlando.
