Glenn Paradise, a member at Venture X Marlborough, is the Founder & CEO of Dēp Slēpwear, Inc. We spent some time getting to know Glenn and his company.
Dēp Slēpwear makes and markets performance sleepwear that is purpose-built to help you fall asleep faster, sleep deeper, and sleep longer. Glenn explained the concept, “We work with sleep doctors and other specialists to continually learn and improve our product. We are proud to be endorsed by Dr. Michael Breus, The Sleep Doctor, and thrilled to call the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings our customers. But most of all, we are happy to provide an effective, drug-free sleep solution to the many people who struggle with sleep.”
We asked Glenn some quick Q & As to get to know him and learn about his career journey. Here’s what he had to say:
· What made you want to get involved in this line of work?
I wasn’t sleeping well and figured there had to be a better sleep shirt. When I couldn’t find it, I invented it. Now I have a patent-pending design and professional athletes use my sleep hoodie to sleep and perform better on and off the field of play.
· What has been the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping people perform and live better by helping them sleep better. Especially those with conditions that make sleep a struggle.
· What’s the biggest challenge that you have faced in business and how did you overcome it?
Diving into the unknown every day is probably the biggest and most pervasive challenge I have faced, and continue to face. But, I’ve come to realize that people with the knowledge I need are willing and able to help.
· What business tips would you like to share with others?
Do something you genuinely believe in, and then follow your instincts.
· What has been your favorite part about working at Venture X?
It offers a great balance between privacy and community in a pleasant and professional atmosphere. I’ve been a member since August 2019.
A Personal Look at Glenn Paradise
While getting to know Glenn and his invention a little better, we asked who or what had been his greatest inspiration and he explained, “The many people who tell me things like, ‘You may have changed my life,’ ‘I haven’t slept this well in years,’ and ‘We have a problem, my son won’t take his off.’” As an inventor, we suspect it doesn’t get better than that!
But, we also know, it can’t be all work for Glenn . . . or can it be? We asked him what he enjoys in his spare time and he told us he likes to ski, skate, mountain bike, play guitar, create memories with his family, and “obsess over the details of my invention.” You’re off to a great start, Glenn, and we can’t wait to see what comes next in your journey as you grow Dēp Slēpwear, Inc.
