Kate’s practice primarily focuses on business law, intellectual property law, and estate planning. We asked Kate some questions to get to know her and learn about the journey she’s been on, career-wise.
· What made you want to get involved in this line of work?
I’ve always enjoyed helping people and businesses. I used to work as a licensed financial representative and most of my clients were small business owners and first responders.
· What has been the most rewarding aspect of your job?
As an attorney, I have more resources and methods of helping people plan for their futures. It’s most rewarding to work with clients and provide potential solutions for their future plans.
· What’s the biggest challenge that you have faced in business and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge was just getting started! Deciding to go out on your own is exciting, but also scary. At a certain point, I just had to trust my planning and intuition and take the plunge, and I’m so glad I did!
· What business tips would you like to share with others?
I think the best business advice I’ve received has been to focus on cultivating relationships rather than “network.”
· What has been your favorite part about working at Venture X?
I love the community and the staff! Working at Venture X is a great opportunity to interact with people from so many different backgrounds. I was a member at the Las Colinas location since 2019 and then recently relocated to the new Grapevine office since it’s closer to home.
A Personal Look at Kate Kim
Kate shared that her husband has always been her biggest supporter and motivator on her journey. She also shared some exciting news – she is in the process of getting her debut novel published! Apparently, Kate spends a lot of her free time writing. We’re very excited to see the published book on the desks of other Venture X members who we know will also cheer her on.
